Hezheng Fauna

Hezheng Fauna: In the middle new age of 24 million to 5.2 million years before, Hecheng area in the central part of China had subtropical zone and warm temperature zone climatic environment and was the paradise for many kinds of animals in ancient age. Paleozoology fossils produced by Hezheng area mainly include indricotherium fauna of late Oligocene, Platybelodon fauna of middle Miocene, Hipparion fauna of late Miocene and Equus Linnaeus fauna of early Pleistocene. Among them, Equus Linnaeus fauna was the most luxuriant one and it quantity in Hezheng fauna exceeded that of most famous Picomy and Sauos of Greece in Europe.
